“My favorite part about being an attorney is my clients. Through the practice of law, I have a direct and effective way of helping people through their struggles. Each day I am privileged to work with interesting individuals who have entrusted me to help them with their unique legal matter. My reward is their results.”

Laura was admitted to practice law in 2008. Having always worked for smaller firms, Laura practiced as a sole practitioner for two years before joining Hartung & Schroeder in 2015. Laura maintains an extensive litigation practice, representing clients involved in civil and criminal cases. In her civil practice, Laura represents individuals in the areas of family law, juvenile law, personal injury, and probate. Her criminal practice includes representing clients facing a variety of different criminal charges ranging from operating while intoxicated, fraud and theft, and controlled substance violations.

Laura was born and raised in North Liberty, Iowa. She graduated as valedictorian of Clear Creek Amana High School in 2000. She attended college on an athletic scholarship and graduated from the University of Iowa in 2004 with “High Distinction and Honors” along with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. As a student athlete on the UI women’s softball team, Laura earned Academic All-Big Ten and Academic All-American Honors.
